Kinsterna Hotel & Spa

Kinsterna hotel & spa is honoured by Conde Nast traveller, UK edition, in its hot list 2011 ranked amongst the 65 best new hotels in the world in over 65 countries.

On the outskirts of Monemvasia, near the medieval fortress, the 13th century era rural mansion, houses the design boutique hotel Kinsterna Hotel & Spa. The five-hundred-year old building spans Byzantine, Ottoman, Venetian and modern Greek influences. The exterior lighting scheme was proposed and realized with respect to the historic and rural character of the complex. Traditional wall lanterns were selected to create the general ambience of the space and surfaces. ?uried up lighters where carefully installed to selectively accentuate sandstone structure. The lit ancient cinstern, the hotels namesake, which lies at the mansions heart becomes a focal point during night. Lit running water snakes which spill to the asymmetric pool, contribute to the night-time image of the hotel.
